"And Peace Will Come to You" was written for a former professor and her husband in late 2009/early 2010. My goal with this piece was to express with the same text the depth of expression that music can have--especially in the realm of love. It opens with a very intimate view of the text. The two singers are close and moving with one another as the music is almost shaped around them. In the second section, the joyous side comes alive with a flowing piano accompaniment. The voices use the same melodic material (with a few adjustments to rhythm) to express their love outwardly. This recording was made at the 2010 Univeristy of MN Duluth New Music Festival by Rachel Inselman and Marcus McConico with Dr. Stanley Wold at the piano. I would like to thank them all for their great musicianship and inspiring me to compose this song.
